Our Recreational program ages 6 & up:
Next Level Gymnastics Academy offers gymnastics classes for the beginner through high school gymnast ages. Our recreational program was developed specifically for school age children with fun and gymnastics combined into a safe, progressive program using the guidelines of the USA Gymnastics Jr. Olympic Program. Children are grouped by age and skill level (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced). Children may advance in a few months or it may be a year or beyond depending on the level and the student. Each child is unique and progresses at their own pace. Our gym is fully equipped with the most up-to-date equipment including a spring floor, complete pit system, tumble trak and more. Our well-trained staff is ready to offer your child a fun and safe learning experience.
Beginner: Beginner classes are structured for children aged 6 and up, emphasizing the progression of all motor skills, and the introduction of basic skills on all Junior Olympic events, bars, floor, and vault. This is a great class to introduce the sport of gymnastics to your child while improving strength, flexibility and overall body confidence. Example skills needed to advance to Intermediate level are: cartwheels, roundoffs, handstands, backbends, kickovers, all basic beam skills, and a pull-over on bars.
Intermediate: Intermediate classes are designed for children aged 6 and up who have completed the skills taught in the Beginner class, emphasizing the progression from Beginner skills to Intermediate skills on all Junior Olympic events. By this level, you and your student will have an understanding of gymnastics and overall body awareness. Skills needed to advance to the Advanced level are: backwalkovers, flip flops, handstands, all beam skills in releve working cartwheels, and a pull-over and back hip circle on bars.
Advanced: Advanced classes are designed for children aged 6 and up who have completed the skills taught in the Intermediate class, emphasizing the progression from Intermediate skills to Advanced skills on all Junior Olympic events. Students will build on their progression in the previous class. Students will focus on form and body positions will enhancing their skill-set to help prepare them for their next step, whether it would be adding an extra day to help with progression.
